Ok Uncle when I look at the settings on this mvp 2 and check the ohm meter it shows 2.0 ohms then flashes 4.0 volts when I have it set on 3.7v and 7w does this mean it automatically puts out the 4.0v? This is where my confusion comes in I find the 7watts gives the best flavor in the juice I am using so far but the voltage is bliwing my mind when it shows one thing and when I check my settings it shows another lol but still glad I found this forum and appreciate the welcome and info 🙂

Well I have been smoking a pack a day for 30+ years and have tried to quit numerous times. A friend turned me on to vaping 3 weeks ago and now only have 1-2 cigs a day (mainly with my morning coffee) started with a cheap ego starter kit that broke within 10 days and then bought an itaste2 I am a little confused with the whole vv & vw thing though. I am using an iclear16 w\2.0 ohm coil what is a good setting for this tank? I am vaping a 18mg tobacco flavor from a local shop 100%VG in one tank and a 50/50 blend of juicy fruit in another any help would be most appreciated :-)

Greetings and welcome to the ECA family!

If you are referring to the MVP V2 you are off to a great start!

And the Iclear 16 is a good choice as well so again you are doing good.

As to VV and VW both of these allows you to fine tune the temp going to the coils so you can change the temp of your vape. Sounds kinda funny but with experience you will find a difference in the flavor of you E-juice with different temps and on different clearos and whatnot.

I am going to give this my best shot in explaining the difference between VV and VW

VV allows you to increase and decrease your temp well enough. But if you change your atomizers you may have to play with the settings again.

Also, if your coil gunks up and the resistance changes you will need to adjust your voltage according your likes.

With VW it is pretty much set and forget. Once you find the wattage that suits that juice the best, you are done.

Even if you change atomizers the output is the same. Even if the resistance of you coil changes the "heat" supplied is the same.

Call it "Auto Pilot" if you will.

VW is set it and forget it unless you want to adjust.

Hope this helps!

And you have found the absolute best place to ask any and all questions.

All of us were new to this at one time and we have never forgot that fact as well as the fact that the more experienced members here have always been more than willing to help out a new member find their vaping bliss.

Sadly, some of the other forums have a kind of elitist mentality and will "talk down" to people just entering the vaping world.

We are not like that.

Me, when I first found this place, I thought that cigalikes were the best the world had to offer but a lot of the senior members spent a lot of time helping me and very respectfully at that.

Anyway, ask any and all questions and if you like, PM any of us for help. That include me!

Hi. I haven’t used an iTaste, but for most devices 8 Watts would probably be about right. I would set it at 7 and go up as desired. If it’s too hot or tastes burnt, then go down a little. The rule of thumb, whether you’re working with watts or volts is start on the low side and go up a little at a time. And congrats on making the switch. You’ll get the hang of everything over time and probably won’t even want those couple of analogs before too long.

I am currently using an MVP2 with an iClear 30b. Very pleased with this combination. Plan to purchase another MVP2 although they have a new box mod called an e-LVT that looks kind of interesting. Supposed to be coming out in January. I also plan to get a VTR this spring. Have to take a break on spending before my wife kills me!!

Glad you found us and I welcome you to the ECA family!

Your story sounds a lot like mine as I started smoking at age 16.

But I gotta ask what gear you started vaping with in the first place? The MVP and the Iclear is a nice setup and that e-LVP looks interesting.indeed. I am a big fan of what I refer to as "Ruggedized" equipment.

I would be more than interested in that if I ever vaped in the shower. Or just showered to begin with!

By the way, I am also the unofficial forum smart-ass. They keep trying to get rid of me but nothing seems to work. Just like roaches I guess

And I totally understand needing to co-exist peacefully with the Mrs. and having to watch the amount (both monetarily and physically) of vape gear you bring into the house.

As Mrs. Uncle likes to remind me, "You have to sleep sometime"

Again I am glad you found us and please stick around to share, learn and just have fun with the rest of us inmates

We are a friendly lot, exept for Evil Uncle and he is mostly locked up in the ECA dungeon anyway
